Uhuru Planet hosts Apparel Decoration Workshop Series - Fundraiser for the Black Power Blueprint

Learn how to put your own designs onto clothing with embroidery and heat transfer vinyl in this hands-on workshop series hosted by Uhuru Planet Reparations Apparel, the economic development institution of the African People’s Solidarity Committee based in Boston, MA. This 2-part workshop series is a fundraiser for the #ReparationsTuesday campaign for the Black Power Blueprint, the international day of giving known as Giving Tuesday on Tuesday Dec 3rd.

Crafting for a cause! The Black Power Blueprint is a black self-determination project based in St. Louis, MO building event spaces and community centers, housing, the One Africa One Nation Marketplace, Uhuru Jiko commercial kitchen, a basketball court, community gardens and more-- all led by and for the black working-class community.

SESSION 1: Tuesday Dec. 3rd, 6:30-9:30pm
SESSION 2: Sunday Dec. 15, 3-6pm
$15 for one session, $25 for both.

Come to both to have time to finish your projects and experience all that is being offered in this interactive workshop series. MATERIALS PROVIDED! *Please bring your own garments if you would like to alter them, or use our wide selection of fabric to practice on.

  • Make custom holiday gifts

  • Heat transfer vinyl workshop and using a vinyl cutter machine to put your designs onto apparel (recommended: bring your ideas as a black & white .jpg)

  • Live demonstrations of screenprinting and a heat press machine

  • Pop-up store for UhuruPlanet.com & customize your clothes with Uhuru Planet designs right onto your own garments

  • Optional: Bring your current craft/art project to work on in a friendly and sober environment (tables and couches provided)

  • Food, music, and reparations to African people!

Hosted by Uhuru Planet Reparations Apparel and the Boston branch of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement. USM is the organization of white people created by and accountable to the African People's Socialist Party, organizing in the white community for reparations to African people.
