The Red, Black and Green flag represents the entire African nation (black people everywhere). It was voted to be the flag of Africa on August 12, 1920 by Marcus Garvey and the thousands of members of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), at their conference in Brooklyn NY.
The red is for the bloodshead
The black is for the people
The green is for the land
In the Uhuru Movement, you will often see this flag with a red star in the middle. The red star represents socialism, together with the RBG colors represents African Internationalism and an African socialist state, under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party.
